Catholic Charities New Hampshire (CCNH) is looking for a full-time Major Gifts Officer to join our team of dedicated professionals. The Major Gifts Officer plays a critical role as a member of the Development team by securing funds for the organization by managing, cultivating, and stewarding relationships. You will be managing a portfolio of existing donors, as well as identifying new major gift prospects, and ensuring that as many donors as possible are retained and upgraded in their giving and engagement.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Help our donors accomplish their philanthropic goals and ambitions through a relationship with our organization
- Manage systems and software to track and cultivate donors and prospects
- Manage an existing portfolio of at least 150 donors and prospects
- Make direct, face-to-face solicitations and assist the Board and other staff with their solicitation
- Communicate with donors by phone to accept donations, verify information and answer general questions
Job Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years of experience in major gifts solicitation, donor stewardship, fundraising, direct appeals, high net-worth individual sales, working with board and committee members in a not-for-profit setting, or other development work, preferred
- Knowledgeable in computers specifically Microsoft Office, and ability to learn complex database system (Raiser’s Edge experience a plus)
- Ability to manage people, process, deadlines and budget
- Strong listening and communication skills, and ability to build relationships and work directly with donors
- Ability to travel throughout the state to meet with donors and prospects
