Do you want to help make a difference in the lives of individuals and families in need? Consider bringing your talents to the Guardian Angel Thrift Shop (GATS) in Berlin, NH. We are currently seeking a part-time (25 hours/week) Assistant Manager to join our team. The GATS Assistant Manager will assist the Operations Manager in all aspects of the store operations, including but not limited to, staffing, customer service and other store operations. 

 

Under ownership of Catholic Charities New Hampshire, Guardian Angel Thrift Shop is a community resource selling donated clothing, furniture and other household items to members of the greater Berlin community. This is a critical resource for local residents.

 

Essential functions:

· Help with opening/closing, donation intake, pricing, and store security.

· Sort, tag, and display donated items; dispose of unusable items.

· Keep the store clean, organized, and well-stocked.

· Manage inventory and rotate items as needed.

· Support volunteer recruitment, training, and scheduling.

· Ensure volunteers follow procedures and provide good customer service.

· Report concerns and provide feedback to the Operations Manager.

· Greet and assist customers professionally and kindly.

· Handle basic inquiries and issues; escalate when necessary.

· Foster a welcoming and positive environment.

· Assist with cash handling, deposits, and daily sales reports.

· Help with revenue tracking and record-keeping.

· Ensure safety procedures and theft prevention policies are followed.

Requirements

· High School Diploma or GED.

· Prior experience in retail sales, second-hand and/or thrift shop, preferred.

· Point-of-sales (POS) system/Cash Register experience and the ability to work with numbers preferred.
