Description

Catholic Charities New Hampshire is looking for a Grant Writer to join our team. The Grant Writer is responsible for preparing and writing grant proposals to secure funding for CCNH's social service initiatives, including general program support, capital projects, and special programs or needs. The Grant Writer is also responsible for research and informational updates related to prospective funders, including for already identified grant prospects, as well as for routinely prospecting and identifying new prospective grantors. The Grant Writer collaborates with program and administrative staff to draft, refine, and ultimately complete and submit full proposals with relevant and/or required support materials, and maintains accurate progress records and notes throughout. The Grant Writer is responsible for performing the functions of this position in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and the policies, procedures, and CHOICES values of Catholic Charities New Hampshire (CCNH).

 

Responsibilities

· Research and identify new grant opportunities and match them to the appropriate CCNH programs.

· Write grant proposals as directed, ensuring adherence to submission deadlines, letters of intent, and proposal requirements. Prepare grant acknowledgments and submit required documentation. Write final reports for all awarded grants.

· Support the building and maintenance of strong relationships with foundations and grantors, always communicating with professionalism and courtesy, and always attentive to stewardship opportunities.

· Organize and support grantor visits to CCNH sites as directed.

· Collaborate with program directors to ensure grant funds are used in accordance with grant requirements and within specified timelines.

· Work with program directors and other relevant staff to identify needs that can be addressed through grantor funding requests, and help facilitate active grantor-specific stewardship and engagement by program staff in support of new or sustained funding.

· Maintain up-to-date tracking of grant proposals and awards to ensure the status is current.

· Record all grant requests and outcomes in the “Actions” section of Raiser’s Edge. Ensure contact information for foundations and corporations is accurate and updated.

Requirements

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the proven ability to create captivating content aligned with unique audience needs 

· Bachelor’s Degree in communications, non-profit management or other related field with demonstrated experience and capacity as an effective writer, preferably specifically as a grant writer

· Prior experience with Raiser’s Edge, preferred.
