Congress Passes Continuing Resolution

In order to avoid a government shutdown, Congress passed a continuing resolution (CR). The US House of Representatives moved the “laddered package” on November 14th by a vote of 336-95 and the Senate by a vote of 87-11 on November 15th.

Under the legislation, four agencies and departments will be funded through January 19, 2024, while the remainder of the federal government will be funded through February 2, 2024.  The CR does not include supplemental funding for Ukraine and Israel or funding for border security measures but does extend the Farm Bill through September 30, 2024.
