Job Description:

Provide psychiatric evaluation, crisis intervention, stabilization, disposition, and referral services in consultation with the on-call psychiatrist for person’s in need of emergency psychiatric care appearing in our community hospital emergency departments and/or in the community through our Mobile Crisis Response team. You will be working with a team of professionals – including first responders, healthcare providers, and community-based agencies – to stabilize a psychiatric crisis situation, avoid hospitalization and/or incarceration, and initiate immediate community-based treatment. This is a fast-paced, dynamic position that requires flexibility, multi-tasking, and strong crisis management skills.

In addition, clinicians provide in-office triage, crisis intervention, stabilization, back-to-school evaluations, and referral services as appropriate for persons scheduled by evaluating clinicians in the EDs and/or referred by other providers, calling on the phone (for themselves or others) or walk-ins to our lobby as indicated by presenting psychiatric status. Shifts are flexible and include overnights and occasional assigned weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities consist of rapid response, face-to-face assessment, diagnostic screening, wrap-around safety planning, and interventions responsive to client goals, needs, and resources. The ability to work closely with the ED health care team, on-call psychiatrists ES Team, and referral sources is crucial to the provision of high-quality accessible services.
 

Experience/Requirements:

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field.

• A valid driver’s license

• Automobile with liability insurance
