About the Organization

About MUW

This is an exciting time in MUW’s 65-year history. We are in the first year of a 5-year strategic plan aimed at addressing our region’s most pressing needs. Through research conducted by MUW, the NH Charitable Foundation and the NH Public Policy Institute, we learned that MUW and its partners are poised to create positive, measurable change in these areas:

  • Children:  Community children live in safe, nurturing, healthy homes and communities.
  • Education:  Community members receive an education that enables them to achieve their fullest potential.
  • Financial stability: Community members have the financial resources they need to live healthy, happy, and productive lives.
  • Basic needs: Community members have access to food, shelter, heat, and transportation. MUW believes these are foundational needs that support the focus areas above.

In addition, we learned that regions across the country have stronger, more lasting effects when communities come together to address social problems using evidence-based practices in a systems-based investment approach called “Impact.” MUW is embracing impactful investing to achieve long-term, lasting change for our region.
