Seacoast Family Promise is a drug and alcohol free, safe family shelter for families and children under the age of 18.

Located in Exeter, NH we have a 90% non-recurrent homeless rate and have placed 100% of our families into stable living environments with the tools necessary to succeed.

Description

Job Summary:

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the organization, ensuring the delivery of services to families experiencing homelessness. The right candidate will have oversight for each of our facilities which include our Day Center in Exeter, NH and our overnight shelter (The Joshua House) in Greenland, NH. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, and community partners to achieve the organization's mission and goals. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Oversee daily operations, manage staff, and ensure the organization's mission and goals are met.
  • Program Development and Implementation: Develop and implement strategic plans to address homelessness and ongoing family support services.
  • Financial Management: Manage the organization's budget, prepare performance reports, and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
  • Community Outreach and Advocacy: Build relationships with community partners, government officials, and corporate sponsors. Develop and execute effective donor communications and marketing materials, including print and digital media. Identify, cultivate, and steward all current and prospective donors and volunteers to support the organization's mission.
  • Fundraising and Grant Writing: Develop grant proposals to secure funding from corporations, private foundations, and government entities. Plan and host special events that engage donors and raise funds for the organization.
  • Staff Supervision: Hire, evaluate, and manage staff, including resolving conflicts and ensuring performance standards are met.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Non-Profit Management, Human Services, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least five years of non-profit management experience, preferably in a homeless shelter or family support services organization.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, financial management, program development, community outreach, and public relations skills.
  • Availability: Able to work occasional evenings and weekends for meetings, special events, and to support our program as needed.
  • Travel: This is an in-person position based in Exeter NH that will also require the ability to travel locally and regionally.
  • Other: Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, excellent verbal & written communication skills, and a strong commitment to the organization's mission.
