Friends of Mascoma Foundation Executive Director  

Position Description  

A salaried position at approximately 30-40 hours per week and reports to the Board of Directors. The Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for FOM’s staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission. S/he will develop deep knowledge of field, core programs, operations, and business plans within the first 6-9 months.  

Organization  

FOM is run by the Board of Directors and our many wonderful volunteers. FOM is registered with the State of NH and is a recognized 501(c)(3) organization with the IRS. Friends of Mascoma Foundation (FOM) was formed in 2014 by a group of community advocates committed to supporting the needs of students and their families within the Mascoma Valley Regional School District (MVRSD). FOM provides support to the MVRSD on initiatives that foster educational development and nutritional well-being. Core areas that FOM focuses on are:  

• Supporting students by funding supplemental educational opportunities and scholarships.  
• Providing teachers with "mini grants" enabling them to offer additional educational programs to their students.  
• Enhancing and improving the reputation of the district by helping highlight our communities’ commitment to education.  
• Supporting successful existing programs to include more students.  
• Supporting our Friends Feeding Friends food pantries.  

Funds are raised through donations, grants, sponsorships, NH Gives, and other fundraising events.   

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

• Ensure ongoing program excellence  
• Develop, maintain and engage the Board of Directors  
• Communication amongst community partners  
• Manage one paid employee and multiple volunteers  
• Working with the accountant and bookkeeper to track finances and prepare yearly tax documentations  
• Apply for grant opportunities that align with FOM’s mission. Track and report on grants   
• Marketing and public relation skills a must  
• Proficiency in Microsoft programs and social media with ability to learn Squarespace, MailChimp, Salesforce and Quickbooks , Office 365 
• Ability to work independently and efficiently and meet deadlines  
• Ability to be flexible with hours and cover pantry if needed, as well as work some nights or weekends for events if needed
