Pros and Cons of Using Form 1023-EZ for Starting a Nonprofit

In 2014, the IRS released the 1023-EZ, giving small nonprofits a streamlined - and less expensive - way of applying for tax-exempt status. There has been much criticism of the form and some indicators that less-than-authentic organizations have used it to gain tax-exempt status. This article looks at the good and the bad of this option.
