NH Center for Nonprofits Welcomes New Board Members and Leadership

At the NH Center for Nonprofits’ June 13th board meeting two new board members were appointed, a slate of new officers was approved, and board member, Robin Abbott, was recognized as her term on the board expired. 

The Center is pleased to announce the appointments of Priyanka Sharma and Maryse Wirbal to the Center’s Board of Directors. Sharma and Wirbal have each committed to serving a three-year term which begins this summer. 

Priyanka Sharma serves as the Regional Leader for the Nashua Region Office of Vocational Rehabilitation New Hampshire, where she helps individuals with disabilities gain self-sufficiency, greater independence and keep overall well-being through meaningful employment. She is a passionate leader and skilled at managing and mentoring talents at all levels. 

Priyanka holds a degree in Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley and brings skills and knowledge of over 15 years from nonprofit and for-profit sectors in the US and internationally. She completed the Hoffman-Haas Fellowship in 2022 and ESC Catalyst Fellowship in 2023. Since fall of 2023, Priyanka has served as the Advisory Council Member of Endowment for Health. Priyanka is multilingual and in her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and catching up on the latest movies.

Maryse Wirbal is the CEO of the Front Door Agency, Inc., a position she has held for the past 26 years. In her role, she has developed seven affordable housing projects, with the most recent being the acquisition of a 40-unit housing program for homeless women; led several strategic plans into fruition; and has served the Greater Nashua community in various leadership positions. 

Maryse currently serves in several leadership roles including Treasurer for the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce, a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Nashua, Executive Committee member for the Greater Nashua Continuum of Care, and is an Advisory Member of the Santander Bank Regional Community Board. Maryse is a Nashua native and currently lives in Merrimack with her husband Jeff and their son Curtis. In her spare time, she enjoys golf and pickleball.

The board also elected a new slate of officers. Tom Cronin, President, Michele Merritt, Vice President, Sheryl Stephens-Burke, Treasurer, Terry Knowles, Secretary, and Kathy Beebe, Immediate Past President.

At the June 13th meeting, board members, Tom Blonski and Tom Cronin were renewed for another three-year term each and outgoing board member, Robin Abbott was recognized for her service and leadership.

The Center is grateful to these community leadership for their commitment and leadership in supporting the New Hampshire nonprofit sector.
