NH Center for Nonprofits Joins Nonprofit Organizations, Nationwide, to Urge Congress to Prioritize Charitable Sector in Policy Decisions
The New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits has signed onto the Nonprofit Community Letter to ensure Representatives and Senators understand the importance and impact of charitable organizations to our constituents and communities, and we are encouraging New Hampshire nonprofits to join us.
As the 119th Congress embarks on critical debates over tax and spending policies, nonprofit organizations across the nation are rallying to ensure our voices are heard. These decisions, set to shape public policy, could significantly influence the ability of charitable nonprofits to improve lives, strengthen communities, and advance the public good.
By signing the letter, stakeholders join a unified effort to ensure nonprofits are not overlooked in legislative deliberations. Advocates believe that a strong show of support will drive home the message that charitable organizations are indispensable partners in delivering services, addressing critical needs, and fostering social progress.
The stakes are high. With Congress poised to address issues that could either enhance or hinder nonprofit operations, advocates stress the urgency of proactive engagement. “It’s vital that Representatives and Senators understand how nonprofits serve their communities and why their needs must be prioritized,” stated Kathleen Reardon, CEO of the New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits. “Nonprofits are significant employers of our country’s workforce, accounting for 12.8 million jobs. Nonprofits are also partners with government at all levels through grants and contracts that provide vital services.”
