Crisis Center of Central New Hampshire (CCCNH) welcomes applicants for our Shelter Coordinator position. This position responsible for coordinating care of shelter guests in our emergency domestic violence shelter. 

The Crisis Center of Central New Hampshire has been serving Merrimack County since 1978. Our mission is to work towards the end of domestic and sexual violence in Merrimack County. We do this through advocacy, empowerment, education and collaboration. 

Responsibilities include Overseeing the day-to-day operations of an emergency domestic violence shelter located in Merrimack County.  Responsible for assisting survivors of domestic and sexual violence in a residential setting through a trauma informed and survivor focused lens. This position will provide case management, emotional support and creating safe space for all shelter guests as they begin their healing journey. 

This position will work with the rest of the CCCNH team to enhance physical and emotional safety at all times in the shelter environment, will be responsible for overseeing and implementing cleaning standards, to support survivors in their healing journey while maintaining healthy boundaries and standards. Position will be responsible for documenting progress over time using agency database. Strong organizational and self-direction are critical to this role. 

This position will work with the CCCNH leadership team to identify program needs specific to the shelter guests we serve, keep the rest of the team aware of related needs including maintenance/repairs and to coordinate shelter donations, volunteers and all shelter related services.  This position is also responsible for managing data, reporting and activity tracking for grant compliance. This position works closely with other Shelter and Housing staff as well as the Direct Service team.  This position is typically Monday through Friday during office hours but at times will require flexibility to meet the needs of the agency. 

Due to the nature of this work the individual will have to be able to regularly walk, climb stairs, and stand. The employee may occasionally need to lift up to 50 lbs. 

 Desired Qualifications

  • Passion for serving survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and/or human trafficking 
  • Strong understanding (or willingness to learn) about trauma informed care in the residential setting. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or similar discipline and/or some formal education and 2 years of experience working in a Human Service setting preferred. 
  • Comfortable and adept at supporting guests in a residential setting. 
  • Understanding and commitment to trauma informed care. 
  • Ability to set strong boundaries while displaying empathy. 
  • Have a solid understanding of technology for both in person and virtual settings (Zoom, Teams, Google Meets, using projector, Outlook calendar, etc.) 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency with all data management tools required by the agency. 
  • Ability to travel locally (within Merrimack County) as part of the position
