TITLE: Senior Development Associate

REPORTS TO: Annual Fund Manager

HOURS: 40 hours per week

New Hampshire SPCA is seeking a Senior Development Associate to administer Raiser’s Edge, provide donor customer service and support our development team!

As a member of our development team, you will be responsible for data management, donor acknowledgement and stewardship. This will include data for gifts, creating and inputting data into donor profiles, and creating & running reports. You will be the first point of contact for the donors and work closely with the development team to ensure complete data integrity and stellar donor experience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Management:

  • Maintains and manages all aspect for donor database (currently Raisers’ Edge) to ensure optimal performance of this critical tool for fundraising success.
  • Ensures the timely data entry of all transactions in database, including checks, online giving, credit card, cash, recurring gifts, payroll deductions, matching gifts, wire transfers/EFTs, gifts-in-kind, and event ticket purchases.
  • Works in Raiser’s Edge, Classy, Shelter Buddy, Omatic and other programs as required.
  • Provides oversight and direction to Development Associate
  • Processes all gift acknowledgment letters in a timely manner and updates or tailors messaging as needed for all donations, including planned gifts, tribute letters for honor/memorial gifts, and as requested for corporate and foundation gifts.
  • Accurately inputs and updates data and profile information as received from returned mail, e-mail, phone calls and other sources, as well as donor contact reports, oversees characterization of gifts, and similar data management support.
  • Verifies and track pledge gifts and coordinates and executes monthly pledge reminder process and reporting.
  • Maintains data and generates queries and reports, including direct mail lists, donor profiles, giving history, and tracking campaigns and events.
  • Generates and circulates weekly and/or monthly reports to appropriate stakeholders within the NHSPCA, as directed.
  • Codes and tracks fundraising appeals and grant submissions and grant reports due in database.
  • Works closely with finance department to reconcile financials and ensure timeliness and accuracy of revenue reports.
  • Maintains relationship and training resources for database, database vendor and Omatic software.

Development

  • Acts as first point of contact for prospects and donors with questions about giving to the NHSPCA.
  • Works in close coordination with development department colleagues under the direction of the Annual Fund Manager & Director of Development to identify donor prospects.
  • Will assist with list development based on donor segmentation and data analytics
  • Manage donor acknowledgement and stewardship.
  • Works with Event staff to execute day of events. Leads the registration team at events in cooperation with event and accounting staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in fundraising (preferably direct marketing, annual fund, or donor relations)
  • Experience with database entry, management, and reports (preferably Raiser’s Edge)
  • This position requires a detail-oriented person who is comfortable with data, capable of multi-tasking, and able to set and communicate priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Must have a strong customer service orientation and creating a donor and volunteer friendly environment in complex organization.
  • Must possess superior organizational skills, as well as an acumen for numbers.
  • Acute attention to detail and strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Should be equally capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Should be strong team player and comfortable in a small, team-based environment, occasionally pitching in with other development relations work as needed
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities, prioritize tasks, take initiative, meet deadlines, and maintain good relationships and humor, and demonstrate diplomacy are essential.
  • Must be highly computer literate, with capable use of Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel)
  • Associates degree or higher strongly preferred (preferably Marketing, Communication, English or Non-profit Management.)
