About the Job

Description

Join our dynamic and experienced team as we recruit senior volunteers to strengthen the community and meet critical needs. The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Program Coordinator recruits, screens and places senior volunteers at volunteer site assignments serving clients and public and nonprofit organizations in Merrimack and Belknap Counties. This position also supports enrolled volunteers and partner sites to ensure successful placements and assignments. The Program Coordinator will lead and train volunteers for Bone Builders senior exercise classes (light, weight-bearing exercises for seniors) and is a unique opportunity to engage in physical activity while at work! The RSVP Program Coordinator works as part of a team to implement daily operations of the program, expansion of services and adherence to Federal requirements.

Responsibilities:

· Recruit, screen, and place new senior volunteers throughout Merrimack and Belknap Counties

· Develop new volunteer sites and RSVP placements

· Coordinate a caseload of existing volunteers, assignments, and sites

· Seek and develop new community sources, make presentations to groups, deliver and place marketing materials throughout the assigned region, develop helpful contacts, engage in community relations activities that result in spreading the name of the program and the agency and increasing volunteer numbers and service assignments

· Consistently adhere to fiscal and programmatic requirements

· Assist with the planning of program events and volunteer recognition

Qualifications:

· Associate’s Degree plus experience in non-profits, older adult services, human services, counseling, education, social work or related field preferred

· Experience and/or ability to work effectively with older adults and be sensitive to their issues and concerns

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

· Strong interpersonal skills with a team orientation and ability to work both independently and interdependently to achieve desired goals

· Excellent organizational skills, task completion, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency required to meet deadlines and work productively in a team environment

· Creative problem solver, flexible, and able to handle ambiguity and process new ideas

· Ability to travel throughout NH, particularly in Merrimack and Belknap counties.

· Competent in MS Office and ability to master Volunteer Reporter (VR)

This is a part-time, 20-30 hours per week position. Our office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The Friends Program offers competitive benefits and generous holiday and paid leave policies.
