ull-time, 32 hour per week position for Physical Therapist

Cedarcrest is a specialized pediatric medical facility and school providing comprehensive services to children and young adults with complex medical and developmental needs. As the only center of pediatric post-acute care providers in New Hampshire, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional care and education.

We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will implement physical therapy services for our residents and day education students. You will provide direct care and consultation services, develop individualized therapy programs, and support staff and families to enhance the development and well-being of our children and young adults.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct Care and Consultation Services

  • Complete initial evaluations and supporting reports for team evaluation and planning.
  • Assess children’s tone, flexibility, strength, coordination, and large motor skills.
  • Plan therapy programs for each child in consultation with physicians, following approved Physical Therapy practices and facility policies.
  • Provide direct treatment and consultation services.
  • Evaluate children’s adaptive equipment needs and assist in obtaining appropriate equipment.
  • Complete necessary paperwork including evaluations, IEPs, Total Plan of Care, progress notes, and medical necessity letters for equipment.
  • Develop programs to promote motor skill development for implementation by education and nursing staff or family members.
  • Lift, transfer, and/or position children according to facility guidelines.
  • Determine needs to access community services to support each child’s needs.

Consultation Services to Staff and Families

  • Provide consultation to families, classroom, activities, and nursing staff.
  • Oversee lifting protocol and orient new staff on specific requirements.
  • Monitor the fit and status of repair of children’s equipment.
  • Instruct residents/students, staff, and families in the care and use of adaptive equipment and prosthetic and orthotic devices.

Support Services

  • Document evaluations, treatments, and progress for medical and educational records, IEPs, and Total Plan of Care.
  • Supervise the Physical Therapy Assistant according to licensure standards.
  • Review evaluation, treatment plan, and programs of children seen by the Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Serve as a liaison with orthotists and wheelchair vendors.
  • Participate in resident care meetings, team meetings, and department meetings.
  • Provide in-service education for other staff as needed.
  • Maintain records of treatment services provided for billing purposes
