About the job 

If you want to make a meaningful difference in families' lives and be an integral part of their clinical support system, consider joining Waypoint's team of dedicated professionals. We seek compassionate and collaborative Family Time Coaches (formerly Parent Aides) to serve families involved with child protective services in the Concord, Dover, Manchester, Rochester, and NH Seacoast areas. The Parent Aide advocate will work directly with parents using the evidence-based Visit Coaching model to empower positive change.

In this role, you will empower parents by focusing on their strengths and building family goals with respect for each family's unique culture. Your support will facilitate healthy bonds enabling children to return home safely. During Family Visits, you may coach parents by sitting on the floor playing games or reading books with a child, or by modeling age-appropriate activities. Regular reflective supervision, Department Team meetings, and support from program colleagues promote a collaborative culture.

We have Full-time and Part-Time positions with flexible hours and schedules.  Preferred availability for 2:30-8 PM Mon - Fri. (some weekend hours may be required) Perfect for a new career or a second job opportunity.

  Qualifications:

  • You must be passionate about our mission and purpose
  • High School Diploma with two years of related social services. Applicants with parenting experience is a plus.
  • Applicants must be at least 22 years of age, due to DCYF requirements.
  • Prior experience working with children and/or families
  • Compassion, kindness, patience, and reliability
  • Flexible schedule with nights and possible weekend Visits to support families.
  • Transportation of children is required. Valid driver’s license with Motor Vehicle background check, reliable vehicle and auto insurance that meets agency standards.
  • Ability to lift and install the car seat(s) to the position requirements,
  •  Understanding of policies, procedures, and ability to set professional boundaries and handle confidential information.
  •  Ability to manage your time/schedule and able to plan for multiple Visits in a day.
  • Excellent verbal, written, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Equally able to work autonomously and as a member of a Team.
  • Able to sit, stand, climb stairs, move about the Visits, and follow young children.
  • Must have the ability to lift 25 lbs. 
  • Understanding of and ability to work positively with children and parents with mental health and/or substance misuse.
  • Ability to use technology and an electronic health record for documentation.
  • Experience with Office 365 and SharePoint preferred.
