Organization Description: 

Mainspring: The Seacoast Social Service Collective is a geographically collaborative initiative with the mission to build a stronger community by providing all citizens with the resources to thrive. Fair Tide (housing) and Footprints (food security) co-developed this community resource hub, which will facilitate multiple agencies working under one roof with centralized intake, comprehensive care, case management, and shared success metrics and data. The goal is to mitigate the impacts of poverty throughout the Seacoast region, building a healthier and more resilient Seacoast NH and Southern Maine. 

Position Summary: 

The Intake & Collaboration Specialist is a client-facing position responsible for creating a welcoming and caring experience for individuals/families visiting Mainspring. This role is vital to orchestrating our centralized intake process with respect, dignity, and confidentiality. Additionally, this position will coordinate the collaborative efforts of all Mainspring agencies and offer administrative support. This position will be an employee of Fair Tide with supervision shared by Fair Tide and Footprint’s Executive Directors, and will serve as an integral member of the entire Mainspring team.  We are hiring two Intake & Collaboration Specialists at 24 hours/week each.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for individuals and families seeking services at Mainspring, providing a respectful and dignified process of entry.
  • Conduct intake interviews over the phone and in person to gather new clients' information, assess needs, and determine appropriate initial referral(s).
  • Coordinate with case managers and appropriate agencies to ensure clients receive timely support.
  • Welcome and check clients in for existing appointments. 
  • Answer Mainspring phone calls and respond to general email inquiries.
  • Maintain confidentiality with all client information.
  • Assist in Mainspring’s team effort to support clients. 
  • Manage office operations, including but not limited to scheduling, meeting coordination, office supply inventory, data entry, clerical duties, and coordination with property management and staff, as needed. 
  • Provide administrative support to leadership staff as time allows.

Qualifications Preferred: 

  • Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field is preferred
  • Experience in the mental health/social service sector working directly with individuals and families impacted by poverty and financial hardship.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to work alongside individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and maintain client confidentiality.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and use EmpowOR - client software services. 
  • Flexibility and adaptability will be important.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Knowledge of local resources and services available to individuals living on low incomes.
