About the Organization
HAVEN, formerly known as A Safe Place and SASS officially merged in July of 2015 becoming the largest violence prevention and support services agency in NH. We are dedicated to addressing public health through violence prevention and improving the well-being of children and families. Preventing abuse and providing support for those impacted by domestic and sexual violence can lead to healthier and more secure children and adults. Our mission is to prevent sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking and to support and empower women, men, youth and families to heal from abuse and rebuild their lives. Through a 24-hour client service support program and a Safe Kids Strong Teens K-12 Prevention education program, this organization provides services to individuals and families throughout Rockingham and Strafford Counties.

Outreach & Volunteer Coordinator
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Community Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator provides community outreach to HAVEN’s service area and coordinates core aspects of the Volunteer program.
ACTIVITIES
Outreach Coordination
- Cultivate and maintain community relationships.
- Create survivor-driven and mission-focused content ongoing for blog, social media, and e-newsletters and keep MailChimp database updated from outreach efforts.
- Manage and maintain all print material inventory tracking and distribution.
- Serve as a liaison for community partner agencies and stakeholders.
- Coordinate details of Outreach Event tabling opportunities, i.e. fairs, festivals, health fairs, farmers markets, etc.
- As needed, assist in the creation of outreach materials and messaging.
- Collaborate with other staff members and assist with trainings or outreach presentations, as necessary.
Volunteer Coordination:
- Lead ongoing coordination of volunteer efforts & training sign-ups, meetings, orientation and onboarding, volunteer check-in meetings, and volunteer appreciation efforts.
- Directly oversee Outreach Volunteers and coordinate monthly volunteer sign-ups.
- Assist with screening and recruitment of volunteers/ interns.
- Track volunteer data and time in our Donor/ Volunteer Software system.
General:
- Participate in other duties and tasks, as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and ability to travel throughout Rockingham and Strafford County required.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree preferred or degree in progress, and/or related comparable work experience.
SKILLS: Exceptional written and oral communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, creative/ design skills in Canva or other, high level of organization, social media skills, volunteer coordination, public speaking, critical thinking, networking with other community agencies, ability to handle difficult situations.
KNOWLEDGE: Understanding of and sensitivity to the dynamics and effects of domestic abuse and sexual assault. Knowledge of local community resources.
TRAITS: Self-motivated worker, good judgment, team player, compassionate, dedicated, healthy boundaries, professional, outgoing, culturally sensitive and passionate/ articulate about the issues of sexual and domestic violence, stalking and human trafficking.

- Must be physically and mentally capable of performing multiple tasks (such as phone calls, computer work, attending meetings) and able to consistently function well in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have driver’s license, car insurance and own transportation to attend Outreach events and for community outreach efforts.
- Must be capable of using a visual display terminal with keyboard, repetitively use his/her wrist, elbow and shoulder.

Status of Position
40 HOURS PER WEEK – Some nights and weekends required
NON-EXEMPT: Hourly, Benefits Eligible $19-$22/per hour
REPORTS TO: Manager of Outreach and Volunteers
Primarily based out of the Portsmouth HAVEN office.
