Description

Join our dynamic and experienced team as we recruit senior volunteers who serve as Foster Grandparents in schools and daycares supporting the varied needs of children.

The FGP (Foster Grandparent Program) Program Coordinator will assist the Director of Volunteer Programs and Team Manager in grant delivery and fulfillment by supporting existing Foster Grandparents to mentor and tutor students in their assigned area. Program Coordinators support Foster Grandparent volunteers; recruit and place volunteers at youth service sites and supervise the volunteers and the sites in the assigned region adapting to the evolving needs of schools and Foster Grandparents. Adhering to Federal grant requirements and compliance with extensive guidelines is an important part of this role. Ability to quickly adapt to software systems and proficiency with MS Office is a requirement for this position. Responsibilities:

· Manage Foster Grandparent volunteers, assignments, and sites (schools, Head Starts, nonprofit childcare centers and other youth service programs) within an assigned territory.

· Support and train Foster Grandparents volunteer assignments to support students.

· Recruit new Foster Grandparents in the assigned areas.

· Develop new volunteer sites and Foster Grandparent placements.

· Develop and conduct monthly training workshops for volunteers.

· Assisting with planning of yearly program events.

· Consistently adhere to fiscal and programmatic requirements.

· Demonstrate flexibility in role by accepting other duties as assigned.

· Ensure timely processing of Foster Grandparent timesheets

Qualifications:

· Associate’s Degree plus experience in non-profits, older adult services, human services, counseling, education, social work or related field preferred.

· Experience and/or ability to work effectively with older adults and be sensitive to their issues and concerns.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Must have strong experience in MS Office and comfortable learning new software programs.

· Ability to initiate phone calls, set up meetings with new people and maintain positive relationships, including school principals, teachers and office staff.

· Ability to travel throughout NH, within assigned territory to visit sites and promote the program.

· Strong sense of initiative.

This is a part-time ­­­20-30 hour per week position. Hybrid work environment ideal for anyone looking for a schedule that typically falls within school hours. This position requires meeting with Foster Grandparents, schools and the team on a regular basis. The hourly rate is $18.50. Equipment to work remotely provided as well as mileage reimbursement.
