Unitarian Universalist Action New Hampshire 
Executive Director_20 Hour Position

Salary Range: $38,000-$41,000, depending on experience

Remote position (work from home) and some travel around NH. Candidate should live in NH.

Unitarian Universalist Action New Hampshire is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit religious and social justice organization grounded on the seven principles of Unitarian Universalism, including:

  • The inherent worth and dignity of every person;
  • Justice, equity, and compassion in human relations;
  • The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all; 
  • Respect for the interdependent web of all existence.

Reporting monthly to the Leadership Team/Executive Board, the Executive Director will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for UU Action NH, any future staff and volunteers, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission. The Executive Director will initially develop deep knowledge of the organization, core programs, operations, and business plans.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Administration:

  • Ensure consistent quality of administration, fundraising, grant writing, and communications
  • Recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals of the organization.
  • Lead trainings as called for and attend monthly Leadership Team meetings and annual meeting.
  • Collaborate with NH partner organizations.

Communications:

  • Learn, manage, and actively use UU Action’s software system, Every Action, for communications with members and donors.
  • Work closely with the UU Action’s treasurer to actively fundraise using Every Action.
  • Collaborate with Leadership Team Secretary to publish a monthly newsletter.
  • Maintain and monitor the UU Action website and social media.

Planning & Outreach:

  • Working closely with the Leadership Team, continue building relationships with NH UU Churches and affiliations.
  • Represent UU Action NH as part of its membership in the Coalition of UU State Action Networks (CUUSAN), a national network.
  • Build partnerships in new markets, establishing relationships with the funders, and with political and community leaders.

Qualifications

The ED will be thoroughly committed to UU Action NH’s mission. All candidates should have proven leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience. Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, and people who have been personally impacted by the criminal legal system are strongly encouraged to apply.

Specific requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, management or similar discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong marketing, public relations, fundraising experience, and grant application experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with and comfortable with Google and social media. 
  • Familiarity with Every Action, WIX and website admin.
