Hope for New Hampshire Recovery is a grassroots nonprofit. Our focus is to help people learn to get comfortable in their recovery through a non-clinical peer-based approach. We offer in-person and telephone recovery support, social events, meetings & groups.
About the Job
Would you like to be an integral part of Manchester’s recovery community while leading Hope for NH Recovery in maintaining and growing its place in the community? Our Center opened its doors eight years ago and needs a full-time leader for this energetic organization of dedicated members and staff.
Reporting to the Board of Directors of the non-profit organization, Hope for NH Recovery the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the Hope Recovery Community Center located at 293 Wilson Street, Manchester NH. This center provides community to those looking for, and maintaining recovery from substance misuse, a meeting space for multiple recovery pathways, and a safe space to gather, socialize, and hold social events. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Board Governance Responsible for:
- Leading Hope for NH Recovery (Hope) in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by its Board of Directors
- Communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions
- Financial Performance And Viability
- Responsible for:
- Fundraising and developing other revenues necessary to support our mission
- Fiscal integrity of Hope, to include submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statement which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization
- Fiscal management that anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position
Organization Mission and Strategy
Responsible for:
- The Implementation of Hope’s programs that carry out the organization’s mission
- Strategic planning to ensure that Hope can successfully fulfill its Mission into the future
- Marketing Hope’s programs through various media outlets
- The enhancement of Hope’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic, private and public organizations
Organizational Operations
Responsible for:
- The hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff
- The recruitment of volunteers
- The effective administration of Hope’s operations
- Signing all notes, agreements and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Report to and work closely with the Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy decisions, fundraising and to increase the overall visibility of the organization
- Supervise and collaborate with organization staff and volunteers
- Design and implement the strategic plan
- Plan and implement an annual budget
- Serve as Hope’s primary spokesperson to the organization's constituents, the media and the general public
- Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance our Mission
- Engage in fundraising and developing other revenues through grants and other sources
- Oversee marketing and other communications efforts
- Oversee organization of Board and committee meetings
- Establish employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and for day-to-day operation of the organization
- Review and approve contracts for services
- Supervise staff (currently five part-time employees)
- Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proven track record of success in a leadership position overseeing operations of an organization or program with exposure to foundations, while maintaining solid relationships with staff, board, donors, and community.
- A minimum of three years of senior-level nonprofit organization experience is preferred.
- Successful resource development, fundraising, and philanthropy experience.
- Significant experience as a paid or volunteer leader at a not-for-profit organization. A solid knowledge of accounting, budgeting, financial management and marketing.
- Extensive experience in public speaking/public relations.
- Familiarity with organizational software such as QuickBooks, One Drive, and database programs.
- An entrepreneurial spirit, preferably including experience developing and implementing public-private partnerships to achieve community-wide social and economic goals.
COMPENSATION: This is a full-time (exempt) employee position with a salary range of $85,000 to $95,000 depending on educational background and prior work experience, and with full benefits of paid holidays, vacation time, sick/personal days, and health care contribution.
