Key Relationships: Director of Programs, CFO, Director of Development and Marketing

Position Overview:

WMSI (White Mountain Science, Inc.) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Outreach to lead our efforts in expanding partnerships, increasing program income, driving strategic growth, and increasing WMSI’s ability to make data-informed decisions. The ideal candidate will play a key role in identifying new opportunities to collaborate with schools, organizations, and community stakeholders, while managing existing relationships and developing contracts that align with our mission of increasing access to STEM education in northern New England. 

Key Responsibilities:

External Communications & Partnership Acquisition (50-60%)

  • Actively seek, secure, and manage partnerships that support WMSI’s goals and growth.
  • Generate new business by cultivating relationships with schools, corporations, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage ongoing communications and sales with current partners, ensuring satisfaction and alignment with our objectives.
  • Develop partnership agreements, work plans, and contracts to ensure program success.
  • Create and manage schedules for all programs.
  • Collaborate with marketing, program staff, and development teams to drive strategies that enhance WMSI’s reach and impact.

Organizational Management (20%)

  • Contribute to strategic planning and key decision-making at the organizational level.
  • Manage databases of clients and programs, ensuring efficient tracking and administration of programs.
  • Administer programmatic grants and ensure proper data collection and reporting.

Data, Evaluation, and Improvement (10-20%)

  • Oversee program quality assurance, using data-driven insights to enhance program efficiency and impact.
  • Use data-driven decision making to improve quality and efficiency of programs. 

Financials (5%)

  • Assist in developing and maintaining organizational budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Manage invoicing processes, tracking payments, and maintaining financial accountability with partners.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in partnership development, outreach, or sales, preferably within education or non-profits.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in the education field is a plus. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and partnerships simultaneously.
  • Experience with strategic planning and organizational management is a plus.
  • Data-driven mindset with an ability to implement program improvements.
  • Budget management and financial forecasting experience is a plus.

Beneficial Software Skillsets:

Some experience with these or similar products is a plus:

  • Google Suite, including in-depth knowledge of spreadsheet management.
  • Quickbooks Online.
  • Airtable.
  • Little Green Light.
  • Mailchimp.
  • Canva.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements: 

  • Routine office environment. 
  • Able to lift/maneuver up to 20 pounds on occasion, and at varying heights. 
  • Some nights / weekend work required. 
  • Must have own transportation, a valid driver’s license, and adequate insurance.

Position Details:

  • Full time exempt position.
  • Benefits include health and dental insurance, 401K retirement plan with up to 3% salary match, vacation, holidays, sick time, local recreation stipend, and professional development stipend. 
  • Flexible work schedule.
  • Fully on-site position with the option for some remote work, depending on weekly meeting schedules and organizational needs.

Start Date and Compensation

Competitive salary commensurate with level of directly relevant experience, with a starting range of $50,000 to $55,000.
