About Dismas Home: 

Dismas Home of NH is a treatment and re-entry program for justice-involved women, including veterans with substance use disorder. Dismas Home offers residents the opportunity to improve their lives by providing effective clinical treatments and a wide range of social support services in a safe, loving, home-like residential environment.


Position Overview: 

The Development Director is a full-time position at Dismas Home focused on resource development functions, which include the Annual Fund, events, donor stewardship, grant writing, and foundation relations. The director will oversee a portfolio of major gift prospects for our Courage to Change capital campaign and collaborate closely with board members to identify, cultivate, and solicit major donors.

The position reports to the Executive Director and presents progress on goals at the Board of Directors’ regular meetings. Some database management is also required.
 

Education and Experience Requirements: 

The successful candidate will:

  1. Be a detail-oriented, organized, and engaging Development Professional.
  2. Have 5-7 years of experience in non-profit fundraising, ideally with proven experience building a robust development program. 
  3. Must exhibit strong, principled, collaborative leadership skills.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required. 
  5. Must be able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, work as part of a team, lead a team, and be willing to take on responsibilities beyond those explicitly assigned. 
  6. Additionally, the individual should possess excellent interpersonal skills and a strong willingness to learn. The candidate must also demonstrate sound judgment concerning confidential matters.
