Position: Development Manager (Part time – 3 days, year-round) 

Summary: 

Bedrock Gardens is a non-profit organization in Lee NH, with over 30 acres of gardens and landscapes for visitors to engage with and enjoy.  The Development Manager will help take on management of the BG development database and campaign work. Additional grant writing experience, follow-up, reporting assistance, and proven experience with membership/donor cultivation, and fundraising campaigns required.

This position is part-time in nature, 24 hours per week year-round. This individual is expected to manage her/his time efficiently by prioritizing and distributing responsibilities to balance the demands of campaigns and open/closed seasonal demands. Most work can be done from home with occasional on-site development work required.  

Scope and Nature of Supervision: 
This individual reports to the Director, and is expected to communicate well with front-line staff, volunteers, members, volunteers and the community at large.  While work can largely be done from home, it will include weekly communications with supervisor, mail runs, vendor engagement, deposits and occasional in-season on-site help at donor and signature events. 

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the annual appeal and donor correspondence. 
  2. Manage the annual membership drive and program. 
  3. Manage membership benefits coordination. 
  4. Maintain databases and donor system (Little Green Light). 
  5. Manage and grow Business Partnerships, Community Partnerships and Library memberships. 
  6. Assist with occasional grant writing and follow up. 
  7. Submit a monthly report to the ED in advance of the BOD meeting.
  8. Keep a schedule for major donor engagement priorities. 
  9. Assist with member/donor messaging.
  10. Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • Prior development management experience. 
  • Be familiar with commonly used development software, as well as website engagement, Square, Word and Excel.
  • Proven track record with donor cultivation, exercising discretion and privacy. 
  • Work well with people from all backgrounds and abilities.
  • Be industrious, self-motivated, and timely. 
  • Minimum of 3 years development experience in the non-profit world.
