About the Job

Description

Are you passionate about helping others?  Do you know someone that is affected by mental health issues?  If so, then we are looking to talk with you!

West Central has developed a new innovative program that will provide Mobile Crisis Outreach to individuals 24 hours a day/7 days a week!  The primary goal with this program is to assist individuals with a mental illness before they end up in a significant crisis and require hospitalization.

West Central Behavioral Mobile Crisis is looking to hire an individual(s) who are interested working on this team.  We are looking for individuals to help those in need during these times when other service providers are not available.

The Mobile Crisis Team works closely with other Community Health Centers, area Police Department, and other community-based delivery systems.  This will all occur within a two-person team. As a part of this team you will rapidly evaluate complex behavioral health situations; develop, recommend and support clinically appropriate crisis interventions to be implemented with individual clients, their families, and a wide variety of community helpers, including law enforcement and EMS personnel.

To do this, we need passionate and dedicated Master-Level Clinicians. We will consider candidates with Master's Degrees in Progress (Clinicians) if they have relevant experience in mobile crisis/mental health and are in school for the appropriate degree. For the therapists who already have a full time job, but believe in our mission, there are also first, second and third shifts available.

****Because we are looking for both Full-Time and Part-Time employees--even if someone wants one shift a week or a month for extra pay, we are interested in having you be a part of this team! *****

Responsibilities.

  • Rapid responses to all phone calls and face-to-face crisis intervention requests.
  • Consult, triage, or actively participate in facilitating appropriate Voluntary Inpatient Hospital Admissions, Partial Hospital Program referrals, Conditional Discharge Revocations, and Involuntary Emergency Admissions.
  • Provide crisis stabilization follow-up for patients as necessary.

Education:

  • Master's degree in human services field or equivalent preferred

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of clinical experience in a team setting
  • Disaster Behavioral Health Response Basic Training (DBHRT)

Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn necessary computer skills and technical skills essential to the position

Be a part of our team.

West Central provides a generous benefit package including medical, dental and vision insurance, 403(b) retirement plan with employer matching, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, critical illness, accident insurance, pet insurance, tuition reimbursement, local discounts, paid holidays and paid time off!

Ask us about creative work schedules, full-time/part-time, geographic options, different shifts, job-sharing, even cross-functional work to keep things interesting!

We are committed to continuous improvement of our employees.  We provide ongoing education through e-Learning, in-service programs presented by internal staff and external presenters.  CEUs are available for most in-service programs.
