The New Hampshire Women’s Foundation Communications Manager
The New Hampshire Women’s Foundation seeks a high-energy, independent problem-solver for Communications Manager. This role reports to and works closely with the CEO and program directors to oversee the creation and execution of NHWF’s external communications. This role is hybrid with Tuesdays and Thursdays in-person at our office in Concord.
Position Overview and Responsibilities
The Communications Manager will generate compelling content for and manage the day-to-day operations of all communications platforms including but not limited to the NHWF website, newsletters, marketing materials, social media and press releases. The Manager will be responsible for building, maintaining and executing the organizational communications calendar and for ensuring adherence to NHWF brand guidelines.
The ideal candidate will be a team player with a “can-do” attitude. They will be able to work independently and take initiative. The candidate should have outstanding relationship-building skills with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of individuals and groups, including high-level supporters, while demonstrating poise, tact, integrity and professionalism. A sense of humor and a commitment to gender equity are essential.
Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure consistent messaging, branding, and visual identity
- Develop content (online, print, other) that best conveys NHWF key messages for newsletters, emails, and other materials as needed
- Develop and manage content to the organization’s current and future social media channels (i.e. Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging networks).
- Manage and review content for organization’s WordPress website, update with fresh content on a regular basis
- Develop graphic design materials including visuals for emails, social media and print materials
- In collaboration with CEO and/or Program Directors, develop talking points/remarks for key events
- Track, measure and report effectiveness of communication programs and events.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, social/digital communications or related field preferred
- 3–5 years of working experience in Communications or Marketing—ideally in nonprofit, advocacy or campaign organizations. More than five years is a plus.
- Support and passion for the Foundation’s mission
- Enthusiasm, positive attitude, and sense of humor
- Excellent oral and written communications skills (a writing sample may be requested)
- Graphic Design experience using platforms including Canva, InDesign or other Adobe products
- Website/WordPress experience with knowledge of the Elementor theme a plus
- Experience developing and/or implementing communications plans
- Strong attention to detail and proven project management skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance multiple projects while performing at a high level
- Excellent organizational skills
- Flexibility and ability to thrive in a small office environment while working collaboratively with all staff
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Zoom, Google, and various online software platforms
- Experience with CRM databases (especially EveryAction) a plus

- Computer/Technical Skills: Demonstrate strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Excel, PowerPoint and Word; firm understanding and familiarity with data management system, social media and web; ability to adapt to new technology and easily acquire new technical skills
- Judgment: Exhibit sound judgment and the ability to make reasonable decisions in the absence of direction, refers problems/issues to the appropriate person(s) when necessary, and work effectively without constant and direct supervision or guidance

Salary & Benefits: This is a full-time salaried position at 37.5 hours per week with excellent benefits.
The anticipated salary for the position depends on prior communications work experience, expected to range from $55,000 – 65,000 per year for candidates with 3-5 years of prior communications experience. Candidates with significantly more experience are encouraged to apply and can expect higher salary range and job title adjustment.
After a probationary period, benefits include: health, dental and vision insurance; paid family leave; flexible work environment; 10 holidays per year; paid time off starting at 4 weeks as well as a one-week office closure; 403(b) retirement plan with optional individual contribution and 5% employer contribution.
