Founded in 1982, Cross Roads House provides emergency and transitional shelter to homeless men, women, and children in the Seacoast area. We provide homeless families and individuals with basic necessities, as well as the tools and guidance they need to return to permanent housing.

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

The right person will join a dynamic, progressive, and forward-looking non-profit and will be an integral part of the Development Team. This person’s main responsibilities will be: 

  • To serve as the organization’s grants writer.
  • To manage the organization’s social media.
  • To collaborate with Development Team on fundraising events and activities as needed.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as CRH’s grants writer along with being the main person in charge of managing the grants process to include:
    • Research, identify, and maintain a database of public and private grant opportunities in collaboration with Director of Development and Program Director.
    • Maintain a master calendar and database of pending, existing, and past grants; and assemble and submit materials to granting agencies that maintain compliance and reporting criteria.
    • Develop tracking reports on status of grants for the Management Team and the Board of Directors.
  • Develop content for and project manage production of newsletter and social media content.
  • Assist in creating event materials and other marketing materials for external audiences.
  • Assist in producing fundraising events and activities.
  • Provide other development support for senior leadership as needed.
  • Collaborate with Director of Development to prepare agendas and materials for Development Committee meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Minimum 3-5 years progressive experience in grant writing and project management. Experience in fundraising, marketing, and social media would be extremely helpful.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent writing skills. 
  • Excellent computer/technology skills including Microsoft Office programs. 
  • Proficient in social media platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Raisers Edge or a similar donor database and social media applications. 
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to build relationships with foundations and donors.
  • Must be flexible and able to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Must have driver’s license and own vehicle.
