About the Organization

Sole City Dance was established in 1991 under the name Rochester Movement Arts which eventually morphed into Rochester Creative Arts Center.  Over the years the organization evolved with a focus area of dance and in 2009 took on the new name Sole City Dance to reflect this new focus.  Sole City Dance relocated in 2014 to its current location in Somersworth, NH.

We are proud of what we’ve accomplished, and look forward to increasing our impact as there is more to be done, especially in the areas of providing creative arts movement to all without a financial barrier and accessibility to all ages and limitations.

Sole City Dance is the region’s premier artistic dance education center. SCD teaches technical and artistic excellence in an inclusive, nurturing and family-friendly atmosphere. We strive to develop dancers who are confident, thoughtful and contributing members of the community. Our choreography, costumes and music choices are age appropriate.  We do not participate in the dance competition industry, focusing instead on creativity, cultural awareness and collaboration.
