Cogswell Benevolent Trust

The Cogswell Benevolent Trust primarily supports nonprofit organizations in New Hampshire.

The Trust's areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • arts and culture;
  • children and youth;
  • civic affairs;
  • education;
  • health;
  • human services; and,
  • hunger issues, including food banks and soup kitchens.

Grants are provided to the following types of organizations:

  • Nonprofits
    Support is provided for nonprofit entities that have a charitable or educational purpose.
  • Public Agencies
    Support is provided for educational, religious, fraternal organizations that serve the public without restrictions.
  • Other Charitable Institutions
    The Trust supports any organization that has as its primary objective to offer aid, assistance, education, or the betterment of public resources.

Types of support include:

  • project and program support;
  • equipment; and,
  • building renovations.

The Trust rarely considers requests to fund general operating or startup expenses, feasibility studies, endowments, conferences, the production of films or videos, or to eliminate deficits.
