Jay enjoys directing the overall strategy of Carlson Investments and the day-to-day management of the Portfolio Managers. Upon joining Carlson in 2001, Jay is directly responsible for his own group of clients, as well as overseeing all client portfolios as the Chief Investment Officer (CIO). Jay earned a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and achieved his Juris Doctor from Western New England College. Jay is also a CFA® charter holder with the CFA Institute. With over thirty years’ experience in the financial services industry, his extensive work history includes firms such as Travelers Insurance Company and PaineWebber/UBS. Jay is fortunate to have tremendous passion and pride in his work.

Jay has non-profit Board membership experience with Granite VNA, Circle Program and Canterbury Shaker Village.

Jay enjoys competitive downhill skiing, golfing, hiking, and traveling with his family.
