Ten Organizations Complete Nonprofit Sustainability Institute

The NH Center for Nonprofits announced the completion of the first cohort of the Nonprofit Sustainability Institute. Ten organizations participated in the six-month program which is based on the theories and teachings of The Sustainability Mindset.

Monadnock United Way Welcomes Kate Cote

Kate Cote has joined Monadnock United Way (MUW) as administrative assistant. She has lived and worked in the Monadnock Region since 2005. Since graduating from Keene State College in 2007, Kate has held positions in customer service at People’s United Bank and NBT Bank, and most recently as a customer care account specialist at United Natural Foods.

Bruce King Joins NHFPI Board of Directors

The New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute announces the election of Bruce King of Etna to the organization's Board of Directors. Bruce King is president and CEO of New London Hospital and has more than 30 years' experience working in the field of health care finance and administration in New Hampshire.

Bank of America Makes “Basic Needs” Grant to Families First

The Bank of America Charitable Foundation recently granted $15,000 to Families First Health & Support Center, the community health center in Portsmouth. The grant will be used toward salaries of Families First’s staff who help people get their basic needs met: care coordinators, insurance enrollment assisters, home visitors, and medication assistance program staff.

Families First employee Named Hygienist of the Year

The New Hampshire Dental Society recently named Cynthia Bishop, RDH, as Hygienist of the Year. Bishop, a Certified Public Health Dental Hygienist, has worked as Seacoast Healthy Grins program coordinator for Families First Health and Support Center since 2003. In this role, she visits preschool, elementary and middle school classrooms in Portsmouth and nearby towns. She provides oral health education, screenings, cleanings, sealants, temporary fillings and referrals to dentists to children at each school.
