Volunteers of America Northern New England

At Volunteers of America Northern New England we serve the people of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont with the promise to "go wherever we are needed, and do whatever comes to hand." Our mission is to reach out and uplift the human condition and provide opportunity for individual and community involvement. Volunteers of America Northern New England is one of 38 Volunteers of America affiliates across the United States.

Together with Volunteers of America's thousands of human service programs, we help more than 2 million people in over 400 communities in 44 states. Approximately 16,000 paid staff and 70,000 volunteers throughout the country help deliver these life-changing services. In Northern New England, 160 paid staff and more than 400 volunteers carry out our mission of service. Since 1896, Volunteers of America has supported and empowered America's most vulnerable groups, including at-risk youth, the frail elderly, men and women returning from prison, homeless individuals and families, people with disabilities, and those recovering from addictions.

Volunteers of America is also proud to be the largest provider of affordable housing in the country. Willingness. Creativity. Compassion. These underlying values of our founding vision have led Volunteers of America Northern New England to serve more than 8,000 people annually in Maine. Together, we have made a lasting contribution to the quality of life in Northern New England.
