Spark Community Center

Spark! Community Center was founded in 2013 by Lisa Green, a business professional with a son with autism and epilepsy, and John Fenley, an individual with special needs and disability rights advocate.  Spark! opened its doors in June of 2014 in downtown Lebanon, NH and serves the greater Upper Valley area of NH and VT.  We are open Monday through Friday from 10am - 5pm and we are FREE for all to attend (small donation sometimes requested to help defray the cost of food or for fundraising events).  On Fridays, we are open until 9pm for Friday Fun Night.

The mission of the Spark! Community Center, Inc. is to: 1) provide quality social and educational programs that inspire and empower adults with special needs to become more independent and meet their full potential; 2) to provide volunteer and mentoring opportunities for members of the community to become engaged with adults with special needs; 3) to provide a variety of programs and events that will foster and enhance the social inclusion and integration of people with special needs into the community; and 4) to strive to provide solutions to solve challenges faced by people with special needs and their families in the areas of housing, transportation, quality of life, and advocacy.

Our vision is to create a safe and nurturing place where individuals with special needs, their families and caregivers, and caring members of the Upper Valley community can come together and take part in fun and educational activities.  We provide a variety of classes such as life skills, employment skills, computer skills, financial management, arts and crafts, music, theater, writing, and health and fitness.  We also have amenities that are available at any time, such as:  a computer lab with 6 computers, arts and crafts corner, movie and Wii gaming areas, pool table, ping pong, foosball, air hockey, puzzles, board games and cards, a garden, and a kitchen.  We also have many clubs such as UNO, Yahtzee, Drama, Outing, etc.  Our programs include the Spark Card, the Sparks & Rec Program, free caregiver support group meetings, and more.
