About the Strafford County Family Justice Center

The Strafford County Family Justice Center (SCFJC) is collaboration among public and private agencies in Strafford County to provide support, services and resources for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, elder abuse and stalking. The SCFJC Advisory Council oversees operations of the Strafford County Family Justice Center and is comprised of community leaders and partner agency representatives.
 

Our Purpose

To enable safety for every family by unleashing the capacity of our community to end abuse and violence.

Vision

The Strafford County Family Justice Center empowers people to end abuse and violence; building healthy, hopeful, peaceful lives through a safe, service focused environment. It   is a movement that challenges, empowers and engages our community to replace abuse and violence both with dignity and respect.

Our Mission

Our mission is to seamlessly meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of people touched by abuse and violence by collaboratively integrating partners in a dynamic, survivor-driven environment.

Our Services

The SCFJC provides a variety of services from a broad range of providers. Services include: emotional support; accompaniments to court, hospital visits and forensic interviews; safety planning; legal assistance; housing and financial assistance; emergency clothing, food and personal care items; law enforcement and prosecution consultations; transportation assistance; financial literacy programs; parenting resources; support groups; spiritual support; tax preparation assistance; job search assistance; computer and internet access; and many other services as requested.

Our Partners

The partners that make up the Strafford County Family Justice Center have a long history of collaboration and dedication to victims and their families. Our partners include HAVEN; New Hampshire Legal Assistance; Child and Family Services; the Stafford County Attorney’s Office; law enforcement officers from Rochester, Dover, Durham, Somersworth, the Strafford County Sheriff’s office, New Hampshire State Police, and the Strafford County Investigator; the Strafford County Child Advocacy Center; and the Division of Children, Youth and Families among others.

In 2016, the Strafford County Family Justice Center, with the help of our partners, provided 861 service moments to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, eder abuse and stalking from Strafford County and surrounding areas. By providing victims the services and support that they need, together we can hold offenders accountable and make our homes and communities safer.
