JOB SUMMARY: This full-time, in-person position is responsible for providing administrative support to all aspects of Volunteer NH program operations. 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: This position works under the direct supervision of the Executive Director.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None

TIMELINE: This full-time position is temporary, contingent upon funding, with a start date as soon as possible and expected to be funded through December 2026.

PRIMARY ACTIVITIES: 

  • NH Volunteer Engagement Programming
    • Providing ongoing support for the statewide volunteer opportunity platform, Get Connected, through activities such as:
      • Ensuring all account contacts are updated;
      • Identifying and conducting outreach to potential new users;
      • Providing trainings and customer support;
      • Gathering user feedback; 
    • Supporting Volunteer NH program staff with NH Volunteer Engagement Subgrant management including, but not limited to:
      • Assisting with grant competition logistics;
      • Ensuring ongoing reporting compliance and data collection;
      • Managing the calendar of meetings and trainings
    • Assisting Volunteer NH program staff with the management of the NH Volunteer Engagement Network (NHVEN), including by not limited to,
      • Providing support to the network’s Basecamp communication platform;
      • Updating contact list of members;
      • Communicating with the network, including creating polls and scheduling training
  • AmeriCorps Programming
    • Supporting Volunteer NH program staff with AmeriCorps Subgrant management including, including:
      • Assisting with logistics related to the grantmaking process, developing and distributing subgrant agreements, maintaining documents related to grants management, and closing out grants;
      • Tracking program requirements and benchmarks;
      • Coordinate program meetings and timelines;
    • Assisting with new program outreach by researching potential NH organizations to host AmeriCorps programs;
    • Assisting with AmeriCorps member recruitment outreach by researching and scheduling outreach meetings and events.

 

SECONDARY ACTIVITIES

Other activities may include:

  • Supporting Volunteer NH committees, including scheduling, notetaking, and event coordination;
  • Assisting the Executive Director with support of the Board of the Directors;
  • Completing other duties, as assigned by the Executive Director, which may include communications and other organizational development activities.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

Minimum:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with at least two years of relevant work or service experience
  • Proficient with computer applications in particular Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), Zoom and the interest/ability to learn new software applications
  • Superior organizational, planning, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work both independently with general supervision and as part of a project team.
  • Demonstrated ability, or strong evidence of potential, to provide substantive assistance to multiple projects effectively
  • Valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation

HOURS & LOCATION: This position generally works Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week requiring prompt, regular attendance with occasional participation in evening, early morning, and weekend engagements. The Volunteer NH office space is located in Concord, NH (117 Pleasant St; Dolloff Bldg. 4th Fl).

PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Relationships include Volunteer NH staff and Board of Directors, AmeriCorps program staff and members, New Hampshire nonprofits and agencies, and the general public.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is typically performed in an office setting on a computer. It is of moderate physical demand, including standing, sitting, and walking. Filing records may be required, which would include some stooping, bending, and reaching. This position may include significant deadline pressures; frequent interruptions; and daily telephone, video, and email work.

The position requires occasional travel locally, statewide, or further for required meetings and conferences. It may also include occasional assignments that require one to be out of doors in a range of temperatures.
