The New Hampshire Writers’ Project (NHWP) supports the development of individual writers and encourages an audience for literature in our state. We are a nonprofit literary arts organization funded by its members as well as organizations and businesses who support our region’s writers and literary heritage. The organization is run by a Board of Trustees and committees of highly skilled individuals. We are currently seeking to hire a part-time Marketing Director to become a valued member of our staff.

PART-TIME MARKETING DIRECTOR

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Marketing Director is responsible for helping to build and manage the New Hampshire Writers' Project brand and all aspects of marketing communications to raise awareness of our organization. Duties included:

· Collaborate with Program Director to create marketing materials and a strong marketing program for membership and programming that will be conveyed on our website, and distributed in the form of flyers, membership brochures, newsletters, online social media, and other marketing outlets.

· Assist with the maintenance of the website so that all marketing information is current, and marketing from past programming is removed in a timely manner.

  • Responsible for the creation of all programs/passouts for events, flyers, emails to members, and press releases.
  • Collaborate with Membership with the creation of programming surveys.

· Assist in ongoing assessment and enhancement of membership, programming and development.

· Create an affordable PR program that is available for our members only.

QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform marketing duties in a timely manner. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required:

· The Candidate must be a self-starter, and have good organizational, writing, and communication skills.

· The Candidate must be able to work well with the Board of Trustees and other individuals within the organization including work study students and volunteers.

· The Candidate must also be available to attend social events such as our socials and annual writers’ conference.

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalency required.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience required.

Computer Skills

  • Website posting and maintenance experience.
  • Graphic Art Experience is helpful.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in learning new software.
  • Experience with CRM z2Systems (Neon) software is a big plus.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire.
  • Demonstrated ability to present to committees and Board of Trustees.
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented, and collaborative.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and positive "can do" attitude.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
