About the Job

Description

The Granite YMCA is seeking an experienced Food Service Manager to lead our CACFP and SFSP food programs. The Manager will manage the daily food service operations including meal prep, cooking and distribution, and the overall program administration and implementation. 

 

Essential Functions 

  • Establish and maintain systems and procedures for ordering, receiving, storing, preparing and serving of food and related products 

  • Prepare meals for kids in our early learning center, after school and teen programs 

  • Menu planning and development including any events within the assigned location 

  • Implement the USDA CACFP and SFSP At-risk After School snack, breakfast and dinner programs at the assigned locations 

  • CACFP and SFSP menu planning, record keeping, purchase of food supplies and paper products, budget management, unit pricing, set-up and clean-up 

  • Maintain kitchen equipment; schedule repairs and additional maintenance as needed 

  • Develop, implement and monitor food safety/allergy plan 

  • Responsible for assisting with the development and monitoring of all department budgets 

  • Maintain control of the kitchen to ensure that all tasks are carried out efficiently and effectively 

  • Conduct daily inspections to ensure cleanliness of all items and food service facilities 

 

Qualifications 

  • ServeSafe certification required 

  • Valid driver’s license or ability to travel between assigned locations 

  • Strong ability to understand and interpret federal regulations and implement requirements accordingly 

  • Strong communication, organization and project management skills 

  • Strong skills pertaining to computer and tablet functions, including Microsoft Office 

 

This is a full-time, hourly position with an extensive benefit package that includes:
