Portsmouth, NH – A recent $6,000 grant from Northeast Delta Dental Foundation, Inc., will help Families First Health and Support Center purchase dental supplies for its on-site dental center and toothbrushes to give to children participating in Seacoast Healthy Grins, its school-based dental education, screening and cleaning program.
Since 2002, Northeast Delta Dental Foundation has awarded Families First a total of $39,000 in seven grants. The money has been used to support the Families First Dental Center and Seacoast Healthy Grins, and to help launch a program to place sealants on the teeth of children who lack access to dental care.
Northeast Delta Dental Foundation was established in 1995 to provide funding to improve oral health access and education in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Northeast Delta Dental administers the dental benefits of over 700,000 people in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.
Families First Dental Center provides affordable preventive, restorative and emergency oral health care to established patients of Families First Health Center, as well as to any New Hampshire child or teen who either has NH Healthy Kids Gold insurance or who is uninsured and without a regular dentist.
Other services Families First provides include general medical care for people of all ages, prenatal care and parenting and family programs. For more information, call 603-422-8208, or visit www.FamiliesFirstSeacoast.org.
