Description:

NH Audubon is seeking a Field Trip Leader for their Summer Camp Program. You must be 21 or older.

Requirements:
  • College level course work in elementary education, environmental education, outdoor education, biology, natural history or related field required; Bachelor’s degree desirable.
  • Experience teaching children preferably in a camp setting; demonstrated ability to develop creative environmental education activities.
  • Must have ARC or AHA Standard First Aid certification and CPR certification or equivalent, or willingness to obtain certifications; ARC WSI certification or equivalent desirable; lifeguard certification preferred.
  • Requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; creativity, flexibility and enthusiasm with a sincere interest in the natural environment or education desirable.
  • Must be in excellent physical condition with capability to moderately hike, run and climb, tolerance for variable weather conditions, ability to work in an outdoor setting and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Camp uniform required.
Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing daily environmental activities for campers.
  • Teaching or assisting teaching environmental lessons and activities for campers.
  • Assisting with plan and materials preparation.
  • Supervising and responsibility for camper safety.
  • Submitting written lesson plans.
  • Leading games and activities for campers.
  • Assisting with planning for and participating in all camp events, special events and field trips.
  • Assisting with maintenance of camp supplies and equipment.
  • Providing first aid to campers as needed.
  • Assisting with maintenance of common area cleanliness.
  • Performing camper check-in and check-out of camp.
  • Providing feedback to camper parents.
  • Providing activities and supervision for campers during extended care hours.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
