Workshops

The Center offers a variety of workshops throughout the year on topics such as “Staying Legal with the NH Attorney General”, “Marketing Your Mission” and “Building a Confident Fundraising Board.”

Conferences

Several full day conferences are held throughout the year including the Board Excellence Symposium and the Nonprofit Leadership Summit.

Publications

Report on Nonprofit Wages and Benefits in New Hampshire

The biennial Wages & Benefits Report, a collaboration between the NH Center for Nonprofits and the UNH Survey Center, is the only available statewide report on nonprofit compensation. Participating organizations and members of the Center receive discounts on the price of the report. This report is published every two years.

Resources at Your Fingertips

NonprofitNext is benefit of membership in the Center. It is an online resource designed to save NH nonprofits time and money. The website hosts hundreds of templates, checklists and samples for some of the most asked-for items utilized by NH nonprofits. In addition, significant cost savings are available to NH nonprofits at over two dozen businesses, providing discounts on the products and services NH nonprofits want most.

The Business Yellow Pages is a searchable database of vendors and consultants that work with and support nonprofit organizations. This listing is limited to our current Corporate Members.

The Consultant Resource Bank lists nearly 100 consultants who have experience working with nonprofit organizations. In order to be listed in the Consultant Resource Bank, a consultant must submit two references from nonprofit organizations they have worked with successfully.

Grants Central is a searchable database of private statewide and community-based and corporate foundations, many with a NH focus. Members of the Center can search for grant information by the name of the funder, categories of giving and/or geographic focus.

GrantStation is an advanced searchable database of more than 7,000 active funding sources nationally. Members of the Center can purchase a subscription to GrantStation at more than 80% off the regular price.

Best Practice Tools

Board Self-Assessment Tool

The Board Self-Assessment Questionnaire allows nonprofit boards to assess their effectiveness in 12 aspects of governance - ranging from Board-Staff roles to External Relations Practices. It is free for everyone to download and self-administer. The Center offers an online administration of the tool at a fee based on membership status and board size.

Core Capacity Assessment Tool (CCAT)

The Core Capacity Assessment Tool (CCAT) is the most comprehensive online survey of its kind and allows for an anonymous and confidential self-assessment of an organization’s core capacities. The CCAT report provides an analysis of an organization’s current status in the Four Core Capacities that are crucial for organizational effectiveness. The CCAT is intended to help a nonprofit organization determine its strengths and opportunities for improvement.

Best Practice Guide

The Best Practice Guide provides a close look at practices organizations can put into place to build “capacity” (i.e. sustainable resources, strong boards and staff leadership skills, and effective management practices) needed to achieve the mission. This Guide also provides leaders with a “road map” of strategies to employ during each lifecycle stage for building organizational strength.
