Peer Street Outreach Worker –Manchester, NH  10-23 hours per week.

The Peer Street Outreach worker will work with the Street Outreach team to assist runaway, homeless, and street youth ages 12-22 in obtaining basic needs such as food and clothes from our drop-in center and provide street-based education to the youth of the Manchester community about the services the Street Outreach Program provides.   As a Peer Outreach Worker you will be responsible for outreach to youth in potentially 'at risk' situations using a Positive Youth Development approach.  This includes street work, community work, drop-in work (when applicable) informal presentations and other public relations.   Peer Street Outreach Workers are healthy role models and act as liaisons connecting youth with Child and Family Services or other community service providers.  The Peer Outreach Worker is part of a team, and strives to support that team’s work.

Requirements:

Candidates must be between 16 and 23 years old, stable, mature, responsible, reliable, out-going, motivated to work hard, enthusiastic, and willing to work cooperatively in a team setting.  The ideal candidate will have an edge that will help build relationships with “at-risk” youth.  Reliable manner in which to get to and from work required.  Must be willing to work some evenings and nights. Look for someone who is a good time manager with the ability to be self motivated and self-directed with little supervision. Must be substance free and judgment-free.
