At Volunteers of America Northern New England ( more than 300 devoted employees and dedicated volunteers coordinate with over 30 programs throughout the states of Maine and in one community in New Hampshire.  We have a diverse array of services including affordable housing, services to seniors, veterans, children, adults living with mental illness and intellectual disabilities and those involved in the criminal justice system.

Volunteers of America Northern New England is seeking an accomplished strategic and visionary leader to oversee complex administration of programs and continue to grow the organization with a major focus on fund raising, community relations, branding, ministry and financial health.  Candidates should have a minimum 10 years in a leadership role, with a major budgetary function. Experience working in a non-profit organization and familiarity with the development and operation of intensive human services preferred.  Relevant advanced degree preferred.  Candidate must be able to cultivate strong working relationships with Board members, senior management, government funders and key leaders in the community.  Entrepreneurial spirit with analytical, critical thinking and problem solving abilities required as well as an ability to work in a rural environment/landscape.  Strong written and oral communication skills as well as strong technology skills required.  Job requires strong skills at fund raising, motivating, consensus building and building relationships.  Position is required to become a Volunteers of America minister within 3 years of employment. Salary is commensurate with experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package which includes health, dental, vision, retirement, etc.


Masters degree in a related field plus a minimum of 10 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in a non-profit human service setting, that included management of a major budgetary function. Proven ability in program development, management of a diverse and complex human service program and personnel management and computer skills. The President/CEO is required to become a Volunteers of America minister within 3 years of employment.
