Programming and Case Manager

New Generation

New Generation, Inc.

New Generation is a non-profit organization serving homeless pregnant and newly parenting women and their children. New Generation was founded in 1987 to provide a caring, family-oriented shelter to empower homeless women to better care for themselves and their children. New Generation provides group housing for up to 7 women and their children, as well as 2 transitional apartments.


Manage caseload needs of all residents to ensure every woman and her child/children are consistently receiving and utilizing all resources available to help prepare them for individual living. Assist in managing Shelter operations.


Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s in Social Work
  • 1-3 years’ experience in social work, psychology or counseling.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills   
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Effective delegating skills
  • Valid driver’s license and car insurance required
  • CPR/First Aid Certification within 90 days of employment 
  • Ability to transport clients in personal vehicle
  • Candidates are expected to reside within a 30-minute commute to the shelter.  

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with homelessness, poverty, and families
  • Experience with mental health and substance use disorders; prefer New Hampshire licensed LICSW, LCMHC or MLADC.
  • Experience with staff supervision and program development
  • Knowledge of HMIS program
  • Responsible for developing a plan that address the overall psychosocial needs for each individual resident and their child/children and that provides stabilization. Evaluates the needs of each resident, the resources available, and recommends and facilitates a best outcome individualized transition plan.
  • Responsible for providing general support and encouragement of the residents' physical, emotional, spiritual, social and interpersonal development.
  • Responsible for each resident’s compliance of the shelters guidelines to include monitoring of their progress.
  • Responsible for the intake process for prospective residents, to include move-ins and orientations to the shelter.
  • Responsible for the oversight of Resident Support Staff and delegating case management tasks to them where appropriate. 
  • Collaborate with the Parenting Coordinator to teach parenting and life-management skills on an informal daily basis.
  • Responsible for the management of HMIS system for shelter
  • Complete all paperwork requirements, including staff notes regarding each resident when on duty.
  • Manage procurement of food from local food banks and supplemental weekly grocery shopping.
  • Provide transportation for residents as needed.
  • Assists in the general upkeep of the shelter.
  • Be on-call for 50% of the year.
  • Responsible for ensuring 24/7 coverage at the shelter.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director
  • Communicate with collateral sources including providers and family members.
  • Provide crisis intervention and referrals as needed.
