Director of Community Support Program

Riverbend Community Mental Health

Founded in 1963, Riverbend Community Mental Health is a private, nonprofit organization providing specialized behavioral health services in central New Hampshire. Core services include 24/7 emergency mobile crisis services; counseling services for children, adults, and families; and community support, vocational services, and residential programs for adults and seniors. Evidence-based models of treatment guide all our work, and we strongly believe in the power of self-directed growth and recovery.

Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., one of the largest providers of community-based mental health services in New Hampshire, is seeking a full-time director to provide oversight and leadership to a program that serves adults living with severe and persistent mental illness.  The Community Support Program (CSP) offers an array of services and interventions designed to promote recovery and effective illness management.  CSP employs an interdisciplinary team approach that includes full integration with on-site primary care services.  The preferred applicant would have a strong clinical and administrative skills, experience with the NH public mental health system, and would seek to take an active role in staff development.  Computer literacy and excellent communication skills are essential.

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related Human Services field is required.
  • Current NH license or ability to be licensed, as a LICSW or LCMHC is required.
  • Five (5) years of experience in behavioral health service provision, including three (3) years supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and auto insurance or access to a reasonable alternative is preferred. 
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, organizational, communication, and planning skills.

Note: If you have credentials from another state, our Human Resources Department can assist the successful candidate in securing the appropriate licensure to practice in NH.

  • Lead, develop and manageall aspects of Riverbend’s CSP program serving adults with severe and persistent mental illness
  • Participate in state and local planning processes to expand and promote access to services and strengthen agency position in the system of care
  • Assure high quality clinical services, including evidence-based practices, that comply with quality standards of care and regulations
  • Assure financial viability of program by developing and managing the program budget and leveraging funding opportunities
  • Oversee the recruitment, retention, professional development and work satisfaction of a knowledgeable and motivated staff
  • Increase public awareness and supportof program services via marketing and sustaining strong working partnerships with the community and other agencies
