Maintenance Associate

The Maintenance Associate is responsible for performing the maintenance activities of properties managed by SCS and its affiliates. In this capacity, the individual performs activities engaged in preventive maintenance, emergency responses, tenant reported problems, and planned activities such as repairing the physical structures and mechanical systems of buildings and grounds.

  • - Familiarly with service area
  • - Basic awareness of social services provided in the region
  • - Unbiased demeanor toward low-income families
  • - Ability to be flexible to changing directions
  • - Superior problem solving skills
  • - Ability to work closely and supportively with a variety of co-workers and supervisors
  • - Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions
  • - High school diploma or equivalent.
  • - Experience in the field related work
  • - Basic computer skills (including Microsoft Office)
  • Painting (interior and exterior)
  • Carpentry repairs (to include glazing, drywall, and flooring)
  • Minor plumbing repairs
  • Minor masonry repairs
  • Investigate tenant complaints about malfunctions of utilities or furnished household appliances
  • Maintain lighting systems in parking lots, on buildings and in common areas (to include bulb replacements, adjustments and upkeep of timers, and/or photosensitive switches)
  • Maintain HVAC systems including regular filter changes and motor oiling
  • Monitor and remove debris from hallways, basements, outbuildings, and grounds
  • Inspect and maintain the safety and security of the buildings
  • Provide reports on condition and scheduled maintenance
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Assist in housing inspections twice a year (REAC/NHHFA)
