Support Staff – Safe Station

Harbor Homes is a non-profit community-benefit organization that provides low-income, homeless, and disabled New Hampshire community members with affordable housing, primary and behavioral health care, employment and job training, and supportive services. Support Staff – Safe Station  (Per Diem)

In response to the opiod drug crisis facing New Hampshire, Nashua created a Safe Station initiative that serves those who are seeking treatment and recovery from drugs and substance misuse. An individual in need of help can go to any Nashua Fire Station (“Safe Station”) which will then contact Harbor Homes to transport the participant to an appropriate facility.  If there is no need for emergency room treatment, the individual will be transported to a Harbor Homes facility. 

If you are an individual committed to helping eliminate the opiod drug crisis and assisting individuals in need, come join our team of dedicated professionals.  Reporting directly to the Program Manager, you will provide support to the Emergency Safe Station program located at Harbor Homes. 

As Support Staff, your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Ensuring the safety and welfare of all participants and clients by following appropriate procedures for emergency response.  
  • Notifying on-call manager immediately of any urgent/emergent issues or incidents.
  • Assisting with in-office paperwork, data entry and/or copying.
  • Assisting with consumer file maintenance.
  • Assisting with compiling data for reporting.
  • Maintaining inventory
  • Attending staff meetings and/or trainings.
  • Any other special projects assigned by Program Manager (or designee).

Position requires a combination of training, education, and/or a human service background.  Residential housing experience preferred and computer skills required.  The position requires the ability to interface well with others dealing with addiction and detox.  Candidate should possess sound judgment and excellent boundary skills.  On-going supervision provided.  Flexibility with schedule a must!
