Consider a part-time Peer Support Position in Lebanon, NH

West Central Behavioral Health is looking to hire one or more part-time Peer Support Specialists for our Lebanon Adult Services Team at Rivermill. West Central is the nonprofit community mental health care provider for Sullivan County and the Upper Valley, ensuring access to advanced counseling, treatment, and support for people of all ages, regardless of their ability to pay.

As part of the Common Ground initiative, you will work closely with a number of our clients.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services field preferred
  • Case management experience helpful

Peer support programs provide an opportunity for consumers who have achieved significant recovery to assist others in their recovery journeys. Peer Support Specialists are people who use their experience of recovery from mental health disorders to support others in recovery.

  • Teach and assist participants in developing Power Statements in Common Ground Health Report
  • Teach and assist participants in identifying and using Personal Medicine
  • Teach and assist participants in using Decisional Aid Worksheets
  • Teach and assist participants in completing the Common Ground Report
  • Collaborate with other mental health center staff to facilitate participant’s goal attainment•Utilize specific interventions designed to assist participants in meeting his/her recovery goals
  • Support recovering clients focusing on developing educational and social opportunities
  • Educate and inform consumers, families and staff regarding recovery issues
  • Represents Agency consumers in policy and planning meetings
