Individual Services Director

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Hampshire

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Hampshire provides afterschool programs, summer day camps and basketball leagues to 1300 youth throughout the central New Hampshire area including Concord and Laconia areas. Our mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who most need us, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.  We offer a safe place to belong, caring adult mentors and programs covering everything from academics and leadership development to physical fitness and healthy habits.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central NH is looking for an Individual Services Director for its Bradley Street Unit. The Individual Services Director position is responsible for oversight, management and delivery of support and guidance driven programs with the primary concern for the member's social and emotional growth.  Come and work for one of the fastest growing non-profit youth organizations in the state. This is a full time, salaried position with benefits.  


• A Bachelor’s Degree in related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Preferably a minimum of two years of work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization with planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people; 2000 hours experience working with children in a licensed child care program, recreation program or elementary school.
•  Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
•  Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
•  Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.
• Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications in order to meet Bureau of Childcare licensing requirements.

  • Valid State Driver’s License; may need to drive Club van/bus periodically.
  • Must possess a safe driving record and submit a copy of such record to either the Operations Director, or Human Resources Generalist.
  • Must be willing to travel between locations when requested. (Only occasional travel may be required.)
  • All of the candidates that are offered a job with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central New Hampshire will have to submit for an FBI fingerprint background check and submit to a background check through State of NH Criminal Records Dept. and FirstAdvantage. Note: The State of NH Childcare Licensing Bureau may prohibit you from being employed by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Hampshire should there be a disqualifying finding on your criminal record. In addition, even if the State of NH reviews your records and allows you to work at the Club, we still reserve the right to determine your employment status.

Member Guidance

  1. Acts as a resource for families needing assistance in managing their life especially in regards to children, but can include supporting family’s financial needs and developing programs or making referrals of programs that meet these needs.
  2. Ensures that all members receive guidance to help them fulfill and make positive choices about their educational, personal, physical, social, emotional, vocational needs.
  3. Refers children to outside area youth and family support agencies for additional services; develops a widespread community support system. 
  4. Writes behavior management plans for individual youth.


  1. Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisors to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions; instructs and advises/counsels in regards to members social-emotional needs; provides trainings on all behavioral health topics.
  2. Maintains professional contact with community members, Club parents, and other staff to assist in resolving situations.
  3. Develops and maintains partnerships with parents, community leaders and organizations in regards to building relationships and creating community support structures to better assist our members.

Youth Development

  1. Demonstrates leadership to assure conduct, safety, and development of members.
  2. Appoints contact person for Youth of the Year for the total organization.
  3. Develops and monitors the BGC of Central New Hampshire CIT program.

Grant Management

  1. Manages Office of Justice Grants (OJP) throughout the organization.
  2. Trains staff responsible for mentoring programs.
  3. Follows up on reports.
  4. Makes sure that data is current for all sites.

Health and Life Skills Program

  1. Effectively implements and administrates Health and Life Skills, Positive Action programs.
  2. Monitors and evaluates those programs, services and activities to ensure member safety and to improve the overall behaviors of our members. Prepares periodic reports and shares results with other directors.

Unit/Site Management Support

  1. A direct resource for Unit Directors in all youth management issues.
