Executive Director

Great Waters Music Festival

The Great Waters Music Festival is a not for profit music organization featuring high quality entertainment during the summer season. Performances are held weekly June through August at various locations throughout beautiful Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Great Waters was founded twenty four years ago. Its mission is to present outstanding musical and educational events in order to enrich the cultural lives of those residing in and visiting the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. A team of over 50 volunteers, board directors, advisory members and staff all work together to accomplish the mission of the organization.

The Executive Director plays a leadership role in all facets of the organization from contracting with performers to overseeing the successful production of each performance. In addition, the Director serves as the face of the organization in the community by interacting with donors, sponsors, advertisers and volunteers. With board support, the Director plays a key role in fundraising and marketing.

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with budgeting and financial management
  • Successful experience with fundraising and grant writing, performing arts experience preferred
  • Proven experience in relationship building, cultivating and soliciting contributions from corporate and individual donors and working with volunteers
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Solid computer skills
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors
  • ​Operate the organization in a fiscally responsible manner
  • Increase revenue and build capital as well as oversee those who will help carry out this function
  • Build organization's presence and reputation in the community
  • Oversee and implement appropriate resources to ensure successful operations of the organization
  • Coordinate efforts to build strong programs and increase attendance at GWMF events
  • Work with the Board to fulfill the organization's mission
  • Oversee the successful production of all performances
