Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT) Team Coordinator

Under the general direction of the Director of Adult Services and with a dotted line responsibility to the Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT) Team Medical Staff, the IDDT Team Coordinator shall head a team of approximately 4-6 staff members whose primary responsibilities are to provide intensive community based mental health services to individuals who are diagnosed with co-occurring severe mental illness and substance use disorders. 

The coordinator is responsible to “team build” this team which includes selection and training of appropriate staff.  The coordinator is responsible to understand the philosophy behind IDDT as an Evidenced Based Practice and to implement this practice within the treatment team while adhering to fidelity of this treatment model.

The primary service goal is to interrupt the cycle of relapsing mental illness that can result in frequent hospitalizations, episodic or continuous substance abuse, homelessness and difficulties within the legal system. Evidenced Based Practices such as Illness Management and Recovery (IMR) and Supported Employment are expected treatments.  Service provision will be tailored to individual patient need and may include but not be limited to individual and group treatment tools such as Therapeutic Behavioral Services, Medication Supports, Family Supports, and Crisis Intervention Services.

A Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services or other related field is required.  At least two years of experience working with people diagnosed with co-occurring severe mental illness and substance use disorders is required. Candidate must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, be able to work independently and exercise sound judgement.
